Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a Corporate Fundraising Partner

This year the team at My Favorite Muffin® and Big Apple Bagels® have committed to work with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a corporate fundraising partner. In May, Big Apple Bagels helped out at the 2010 Chicagoland Cystic Fibrosis(CF) Great Strides® Walk in Libertyville IL. Ed and Marianne Elgindy from our Aurora restaurant and members of our corporate team volunteered to make our first efforts a big success. In July, Mark Rank and Eric Abbott from My Favorite Muffin®, Centennial CO. also volunteered to be a local CF corporate sponsor in the Denver area. Our first national campaign with CF will begin in early 2011. We hope you join us support this worthy cause.

What Is Cystic Fibrosis?

• CF is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of tens of thousands of young people. 
   
• One in 31 Americans (more than 10 million people) is an unknowing, symptomless "carrier" of the defective CF gene.
   
• Each time two carriers conceive, there is a 25 percent chance that they will have a child with CF.
